Dr. Kimberly O'Brien

Dr. Kimberly O'Brien

  

Dr. O'Brien received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of South Florida in 2008 and is currently an Associate Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Central Michigan University. Dr. O'Brien's research interests primarily center on job stress, organizational citizenship behaviors, and counterproductive work behaviors. Her research has emphasized mentoring experiences (both positive and negative) and emotional abuse due to the overlap with job stress. In her efforts to better understand these behaviors, she has studied racism, health behaviors, personality, ego threat, psychometrics, and statistical/design procedures. She has published in notable journals, such as the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Management, and Journal of Occupational Health Psychology. She is currently writing a book on Job Stress Theories, due out in 2022.
